Privacy Policy for BM BiFolding Doors
Last updated: 23 October 2026
1. Who we are
BM BiFolding Doors (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal information collected through www.bmbifoldingdoors.co.uk, our showroom and our sales team. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and your rights.
- Address: Maxwell Rd, Middlesbrough TS3 8TE
- Email: info@bmbifoldingdoors.co.uk
- Phone: 0800 025 8007
2. Information we collect
- Details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, postcode or address, and details of your project when you request a quote, book an appointment, contact us or apply for a trade account.
- Calls: if you call us after seeing or clicking one of our Google ads, the call may be connected through a Google forwarding number. Google then tells us the time and length of the call and the caller’s area code, so we can see which ads lead to calls.
- Website use: the pages you visit and information about your device and browser, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
3. How we use your information and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, and arrange surveys, appointments, delivery and installation. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing our contract with you.
- To provide customer service, aftercare and guarantee support. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in looking after our customers.
- To send you news and offers by email, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: consent.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it. Legal basis: consent, given through our cookie banner.
- To measure our advertising and show you relevant ads. Legal basis: consent (see sections 5 and 6).
- To keep records the law requires, such as accounts. Legal basis: legal obligation.
4. Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal information. We only share it with:
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our customer management and quoting systems, email, website hosting, and payment or finance providers if you use them. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners (Google, Meta, TikTok and OpenAI), as described in sections 5 and 6.
- Authorities or professional advisers, where the law requires it.
5. Customer lists for advertising
If you have agreed to it, we may share your email address, phone number, name and postcode with Google so we can show you relevant ads on Google services, or stop showing you ads that are no longer relevant to you (for example after you have bought from us). Your details are turned into a secure code (a process called hashing) before they are sent, and Google only uses them to match them to Google accounts for our advertising.
You can withdraw your agreement at any time by emailing info@bmbifoldingdoors.co.uk, and we will remove you from these lists. You can also manage the ads you see at myadcenter.google.com.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use necessary cookies to make our website work. With your permission, given through our cookie banner, we also use:
- Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our website.
- Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and OpenAI (ChatGPT ads) tags, to measure which ads lead to enquiries and calls, and to show our ads to people who have visited our website.
Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam. You can change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie settings button on our website or by clearing cookies in your browser. To learn how Google uses information from websites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
7. Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers, including Google and Meta, may process your information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
8. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and quote details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and follow it up. We keep customer records for as long as we need them for guarantees, aftercare and our legal and accounting obligations. Advertising customer lists are refreshed regularly, and you are removed from them when you ask. Information we no longer need is deleted or anonymised.
9. Keeping your information safe
Our website uses HTTPS to encrypt the information you send us, and access to customer information is limited to the staff and service providers who need it. We comply with UK data protection laws.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information;
- restrict how we use it;
- stop using it, including for marketing and advertising, at any time;
- send it to you or another organisation in a portable format.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@bmbifoldingdoors.co.uk. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
